Marking

Jason

You have produced a number of posts, where you have shown a number of activities that you have been pursuing throughout the term.

You could have improved on those by entering activities on a week by week activity, rather than just a block entry for each.

You have however shown improvement and now also have a good CV.

P8 achieved - well done

Producing a CV

Producing a good CV is very important when you are going for a job you really want or in any case a job that you want to have, everything that is on it will decide whether or not you will get the job at the end of the day. Things that go on your CV really define what kind of a worker you are and this shows your dedication to the job and what you are going to do to earn your worth within the workplace. This lines in with my PDP as I put on there that I wanted to make a good CV by the end of the year and I am very sure that I will achieve this target. I have not yet got a job but now with my conversation skills improved and after producing a good CV, I think that this will improve my chances of getting a job sometime in the future.

Attendance to Lessons

Something that I put on my PDP that was really important to follow was always attending to lessons on time and when I was suppose to. This is extremely important to me as I do not want to miss any part of the lesson as it is all important and if I miss any of it then this could result in me not knowing what to do with the work and this will waste a lot of learning time throughout the lesson. So far I have not been late to any lesson this year and I do not intend on starting now, I want to get the most out of this course and to be able to stick to and follow all of my aims on my PDP. This will hopefully see me through the course as long as I keep up with the work and this will improve my chances of getting a better result if I put the work in and really get down and just do the work when it is given to me.

Skills that I need to get a job

Employability Skills is the first unit that we started at the beginning of the course and it is about communicating with people that is work related and being able to do basic skills like time management and things like that. The document has three different Headings across the page, these are Specific Attributes, General Attributes and Attitudes. In these three sections are 3 different people skills and personal skills that I have developed in time, from things like leadership, determination and confidence. This will really help me when I want to get a job as I now know what skills a employer is looking for and I can teach myself and learn those skills for when I need to explain and show them to an employer when I go for a job.

Personal Development Plan and my aims

Today I finished my personal development plan, this was a set of goals that i set myself to complete all the way up to Christmas. These can be any goals to things like waking up on time or never being late to do something, my aims were to aim to write more neatly, learn how to use Photoshop correctly and up to a high level, never be late and always show up to lessons on time, reach deadlines for my work and hand it in on time and to produce a good CV. These were all of my personal development plans that i planed to finish by Christmas.

Building a PC and meeting deadlines

Building a PC is a very good skill to have when you want to work with computers, like myself and others I do want to work on computers and this gives me a really good understanding of what goes on inside a computer and it all really comes to life. This skill that I have acquired really improves my knowledge about computers and this will help me in the long term as I want to work with and also on computers if that is an option for me down the line. Building this PC also helped me reach deadlines on time as we had a time limit to finish building the PC in and if I did not do it by the end of the time limit then i would have failed, this is very similar to handing in work on time and reaching deadlines as either way you fail if you do not hand it in on time.

Conversation barriers and overcoming them

This week I completed my work on conversation barriers, on this piece of work I had to write about different types of things stopped a conversation from flowing and things that killed a conversation. These were across a variety of things like disabilities to having the lack of knowledge about a certain topic, speaking a different language or even distractions. These are just a phew things that can be a barrier to a conversation and some of these barriers are really difficult to overcome and to work around. Learning about conversation barriers has fixed my weaknesses during conversations as now i know what makes a bad conversation and I can work around it to make the conversation last longer and also to make it have some relevance so that it is not just irreverent to anything we are talking about.
